      Many of you are barking up the wrong tree. The question was what do I invoice the client not how much do I pay myself.....

      I think motorcycle is 24p (HMRC figure)

        As much as you can (+VAT).

        You're right, it's not in any way connected to your personal allowance. However, the fact the personal allowance is 40p means some companies would pay exactly that to employees, and do the same for contractors. That's been my experience.
        Will work inside IR35. Or for food.
