Oonagh BlackmanScience isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

no bait wonderwaif
the facts speak for themselves
I challenge anyone to deny these facts
has the UK had boom and bust for the last ten years ? no
are house prices up ? yes
does everyone feel rich ? yes
are wages going up ? yes
are white and brown goods prices falling ? yes
in terms of quality of life all the boxes are being ticked

What about ?
Council tax - up by 300% for us since the 1990's
Utility prices - up by 100% in the last year alone - not much point in having lots of electrical items you can't afford to use
Motoring costs - have yet to work out the damage
"economic stability" == standards of living don't riseWhy the avatar? Well anyone accused of plotting against Gordon Brown can't be all bad.Comment

Ok I'll bite
has the UK had boom and bust for the last ten years ? no
But neither has the rest of the world really. Much of our stable economy has been based on credit which cannot go on forever.
are house prices up ? yes
Not down to the economy - supply and demand only
does everyone feel rich ? yes
I don't and I know many others who don't. Those who do base this on the price of their house which is a false economy.
are wages going up ? yes
Not as fast as the taxes. Biggest rises have been in the public sector which is funded by the rest.
are white and brown goods prices falling ? yes
That is down to the growth of China and nothing to do with our economy. They are falling in other countries also.
in terms of quality of life all the boxes are being ticked
NopeRule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

yes council tax is up but income tax is down the two more than balance out
motoring costs are up c'est la vie
fact is, the country is enjoying financial stability and long may it continue
as long of the printing presses don't run out of paper everyone is sorteeeeed
when I say everyone I mean those smart enough to buy real assets and not to get credited up
the current financial situation is very good for those with a bit of nouse
M4 14% nice

"yes council tax is up but income tax is down the two more than balance out"
How do you work that out? Income tax has gone down 2p, but we lost the 10p bracket which fatboy himself introduced. Those two measures alone cancel themselves out. So all you are left with council tax up, which means taxes are up.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
