Exactly, except there are no proven genetic factors.

How many times and in how many ways do we have to say this?
Who is this 'we', the abusive posters? i.e. you and Sally? Or was you using the Royal we? You certainly seem to think yourself a cut above everyone else.
What you are really trying to say in your convoluted way is the child hasn't made the choice yet?

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

SA, I didn't mention society. It's someone's personal choice if they're "gay". FFS we're talking about someone's choice here. Being gay is not like being a fecking paraplegic!

So I suppose in answer to your question, no you haven't got it right.

When did you start rejecting the feelings you have for men and choose to only fancy women instead?
If it is a choice it must have been made by all of us at some point.
It's not really as simple as that though is it LG. It is the nature of man to reproduce for the continuation of the species and therefore sex between man and woman is 'inbuilt' in all of us to an extent - it is possible that a malformed gene or something (I am no biologist so don't slate me for the term) may make this natural urge less or even non-existant in some of us. However, it is just as possible that some people turn to same sex relationships for any number of psycological reasons ie. rejections from the opposite sex at an early age, abuse from the opposite sex, humiliation during an early sexual encounter etc etc.

Surely you'd support him having the choice. Are you frightened of him being gay or worried that you won't have grandchildren?

If he becomes gay, it's his choice, not yours.

You said social conditions - thats society to me.

You said I'd been socially conditioned to be repulsed by the thought of havign sex with a woman.
Which in other words means, socially conditioned to be strauight.

Whereas most other peoples arguments in this thread are that people are socialy conditioned into being gay (i.e. the atmophere in which they grow up, things they are exposed to, etc etc).

Sex education at school was about understanding where and how babies were made. Baby making, IMHO, is quite natural and has been happening in the tried and tested manner since time immemorial. Like many other things in life we observe today, a group of sanctimonious ninnies are pandering to an unnatural group and thereby allowing them to dictate on matters that should not concern them.

Leave marriage, adoption and what we tell our kids about making babies to those who actively participate. I discussed this with many friends over the last few days and the reaction ranged from disbelief to anger, who the hell are these people to dictate and push their weird experiments onto our children.

As an example of the effects of confusing children about sexuality try listening to Gay people themselves who regularly claim that suicide rates are high because they were confused and teased about it. Good idea let's confuse them all.

Erm, I put the point forward that perhaps you'd been subject to social conditioning that made *you* physically repulsed by a same sex relationship. I made this comment after your comment on society. I fink yer getting muddled here darling.

I don't blame society for anyone's personal choice.

Hmmm - lets just leave this one.

You're too sexy to have a serious conversation with anyway.

I must say that this thread is quite enlightening in a way. I have discovered that there are a bunch of homophobic arseholes posting here and have decided that I want nothing to do with them in the future so will be putting them all on my ignore list.

Now I know that they will turn around and say that they don't care if I'm ignoring them, and that's their prerogative. But at the end of the day, in real life I'd have nothing to do with them, and I won't here either.

Don't do that Bob. You need to be in the debate.
If nobody opposes their views they will claim to be right.
I know it is like banging your head against a wall, and you have to put up with any number of attempts at character assassination and other slurs, but you have to keep asking the questions.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!
