Nationwide Building Society Quarterly Regional House Price Update

    Key points:
    • House prices remain broadly flat over the month, but down 3.5% compared with June 22
    • All regions except Northern Ireland recorded annual price falls in Q2
    • East Anglia was the weakest performing region with prices down 4.7% year-on-year
Speaking from a mortgage point of view, the last few weeks have been turbulent. We have seen major high street banks changing their products more often than usual as they struggle to price their mortgages. Any lender that appears at the top of mortgage sourcing systems is then flooded with business which in turn mean they have to increase their rates to protect their service levels.

I do however think that once inflation is reined in, things will start to settle down subject to no more events on the domestic or world stage. Hopefully this will happen sooner rather than later.
