Yeah see I live Top Gear, none of the blokes on it are my type of blokes really, but its pure class entertainment, and I agree with Gordon Ramsey as well, arrogant twat but great entertainment and his shows are always quality,

The reason I like Top Gear is that it's so unPC. Unlike 99.9% of the other rubbish on the telly these days.

I found some of his comments in the episode last week about the seppo's pretty offensive (Some of the episode itself was very funny), and totally unnecessary. All he spouted was absolute utter stereotypical nonsense about America. Thanks to people like you snaw we are so full of self loathing in this country and so ashamed of our national identity and our proud past that anyone who comes here and ridicules us would be welcomed as a hero.

BTW is it me or Clarkson that you would like to slap?

            Clarkson is a top bloke

1/ He invented the modern style of car related TV journalism, before that it was William Woolard et al. Everyone now copies the Clarkson style.

            2/ He's funny

3/ His winning mentality is an act, he's actually quite humble, look how he deals with the guests, always very respectful, he will happily talk to people who approach him and other celebs have stated what a nice chap he is (after expecting to dislike him).

My Sister and Brother in law live in the same village as Clarkson, they've met him a couple of time, brother in law took a very nice photo of Clarkson posing by a classic BMW he was driving to the shops.
Clarkson also did a lot for keeping the village lido opened - you might have seen that one on Top Gear, there was a lot more to it than that which was not on TV including a charity auction which Clarkson donated some motoring memorabilia to.

Me? What, I'm intensly proud of being Scottish and got no self loathing whatsoever, in fact I'm a smug fecker who's a borderline narcissist ...

No interest in slapping you DA, don't know you beyond an online personna and I'm 99% positive no one I've encountered online is anyhthng like their online image in RL, including me. Clarkson just annoys me, on many levels.

Wasn't saying that at all. Those people don't represent America any more than the same people who'd react here if you did something similar. Chances are in parts of the UK you wouldn't even need to paint insulting comments on your car for someone to have a go though ...

Nah, I just found his whole attitidue to the US to be pretty bloody negative, bordering on patronising and playuing on stereotypes. I've spent time in all the states they visited in that episode. I met lot's of good people, with faults yeah but generally decent and fun. Yeah some people fit the stereotype, but most don't and there are some very fun, cool things to do in those states and some pretty remarkable people also.

I guess I just found it lazy and shabby to play on tired old stereotypes rather than try to be a little positive. But I guess that's beyond his ability, he's so wrapped up in himself and his rightness he doesn't actually care to find out the truth. But like DA really ;-)
