    My Garage

Well that's what Brummies call it when asking for planning permission.

A family who built a mini-house on their driveway without planning permission have broken their silence - saying they used it as a gym and it was staying. Madam Pal Singh was given the go-ahead to build a single-storey garage at his semi in Highgate in 2019.

But concerns were raised when a much bigger property was constructed and Birmingham City Council gave the family until July to pull down the new building after losing an appeal. It remains standing and the owners said it was turned it into a gym during covid - complete with punch bags and machines.

When approached by Sun Online, a woman who answered the door said: “We’ve not been told to demolish the property. We use it as a gym, we go in there every day.
