...is nearly upon us. I have to say, what an underwhelming line up; Macca topping the bill again on Saturday night. It's all a bit over the hill innit? He couldn't even reach the notes when he did the London Olympics 10 years ago. Hopefully we won't be able to hear him from our vantage point on top of a hill a few miles away.
One day, one of these old codgers is going to cark it just as they're about to take the stage and they'll have to prop 'em up El Cid style. Not that anyone would notice the difference.
So what was the best festie set you ever saw?
For me it was The Prodigy at The Phoenix in 1996 (can't believe that was 26 years ago). They had second billing on the Thursday night & we thought we were going to miss them as the traffic getting in was just crazy and people were just ditching their cars right, left and center at the side of the road. By the time we got in, Maxim had done his opener and Flinty was already on stage. What a set - I don't even remember much about Bowie who was headlining that night. Keith and the lads stole the show.
