As well as being completely futile if the omicron variant is as infectious as they say, it is also completely needless if it is as mild as they say.

I hope their motivations are as benign as you say but I'm suspicious that something more sinister is afoot, particularly as it aligns with the over-the-top measures we are seeing in NZ & parts of Europe.
