I hate Vista

So just switch to 'Classic Mode' like in XP.

I don't think i've ever used XP in normal mode, first thing i do is switch to classic

I quite like Vista - It worked first time with no issues for me - except for the ropey old scanner I have which I never use anyway. I have it on my PC dual booted with XP. Can't fully go down the Vista route yet as my sons screen reader does not have a Vista version. Since it is very graphic inensive I'm guessing their Vista version might be some time away yet.

I have a G5 iMac, a HP P4 with Win XP SP2, an AMD linux box and a G4 iBook sitting on my desk.

Guess which one crashes weekly, needs constant security updates, has had to have the mobo replaced 3 times in one year, and can't hack multimedia software without slowing everything down to a crawl.

No particular loyalty either way until I used them concurrently. Once you go Mac there's no coming back.

If you don't know how to use a PC, you'll get crashes. Mac does it all for you.

I'd rather learn from experience than be spoonfed, to be fair.

The biggest problem with Vista is the DRM embedded deep into the heart of it. Now MS controls your computer, not the other way around.

DRM is already cracked. Everyone buy into DRM, please, it may be our last chance to fsck these media companies into the history books.

Vista is a pretty good OS - all things considered. I'm sure if MS hacked away at it for another 5 years it would be a lot better but they must be running low on cash by now.

If only the f4king wireless would work properly I would even happier.
