White men work together too. In fact, it is more worrying that this has migrated to the internet, because it seems that the large number of images/videos being looked at by any colour of men is so high that cases are not being chased up. Showing intent is also difficult if someone visited a website that loaded content once. The content may have been blocked by the ISP, but there's a big difference between that and a repeat offender who calculates ways to bypass the blocking.

My main thoughts are with the victims. They go on to self-harm, hate themselves and many end their life at a young age. It is insane that we claim to be a developed country and only bother to pursue the easy pickings. The easy picking should be investigated, but similarly we have the technology - but not the people power - to heavily investigate cases and bring people to justice.

How often do we read of someone who has terabytes of child abuse images and videos who then gets a year or two in jail?

This is before we even consider the taboo subject of true mental help. These people are severely mentally sick and clearly have something wrong with them. Imprisonment, yes, but for some it surely must be possible to change them to remorseful individuals who are able to change, as humans are capable of doing.

If we spoke about this topic more as a country and wider society it would make the lack of prosecutions and enforcement as galling as the leniency given to the most severe cases, simultaneously making the public wonder how the hell hardly anybody gets caught in the grand scheme of things.
