But you are right on one point: I am releasing equity from one of my unencumbered properties in London because soon the banks will make it very hard to borrow, so I'm raising additional funds now for potential investments next year.

I'm biding my time. And while I'm waiting, I'm doing just fine.

I hope one day you learn that money isn't everything.

I'm guessing you must be packed now? Or still having trouble fitting your ego into your bags? Just drag it out as you leave, no one will miss it.

    Speaking of those overextending themselves...

Follow the money - why is that so difficult to understand?

        Last try.

        1) Mortgage holiday - why? - I've lost my job my income is gone.

        2) Furlough! 80% of my income restored! So much win. What will I do with it? <20% is going into the economy.

        3) The majority of people on Furlough are using it to pay down debt, including mortgages. Doesn't matter if it is a holiday or not (4).

        4) 6 month furlough + 6 months mortgage holiday = 12 months without rent, thank you taxpayer!

It is utterly outrageous those who over extended themselves are rewarded whilst savers, those that were prudent are being run into the ground.

But we've got ample amount of folks here ready to defend the government's actions, so happy days.

All I'm doing is calling how I see it. We're not in a capitalist society anymore. When businesses & individuals go bust they fail. That's not being allowed to happen which only pushes recovery further into the future.

Are bail ins really possible? The day negative interest rates become true, yes, you're savings / cash is directly being used to prop up those who overextended themselves. I'd be £$$%$@ livid.

Long and short of it, state aid is being used to prop up failed business & households. Yes it sucks jobs are lost, but assuming they'll return, 3-months, 6-months, 12-months - where does it end?
The difference between you and me is I'm happy to live in a society where we look out for the vulnerable. You however seem to only think about yourself and how this impacts you.

You think negative rep upsets anyone? It's what children do.

Firstly, you're not a UK tax payer so how exactly does this impact you?

Secondly, stop thinking about yourself and think of others for once. Personally I gain nothing from any of these schemes and my taxes go towards the furlough, but I'm OK with that. If it keeps people from becoming homeless, helps to ensure people can buy food, keeps jobs 'live', helps in some way to support people's mental health, then it's fine by me.

I get you're selfish. I get you're only concerned about yourself and your bank balance. That's your problem mate, not mine. It clearly doesn't make you happy though does it?

Exactly .... makes no sense. Unless he's not really in Germany and actually lives in a boiler room at his Mom's house
