The USA (and, for all I know, Europe) had a severe shortage of dumbbells earlier in the year, as people bought up existing stocks to get fit during lockdown. Turns out they're mostly manufactured in one of the areas of China that locked down first, so no new stock was coming through and you could sell them for a king's ransom on eBay
