Funny thing was Plusnet were good when BT were reported as being poor even when BT had taken them over..."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

So from everything said so far, EE & Plusnet is pretty much same infrastructure as BT and the provider aspect is merely a branding exercise from the same company.
At the moment we have fibre to cabinet and copper to house and I don't see that changing anytime soon. I could call BT up and ask for a price match though I doubt they will go as low as £27.Comment

FYI: I had Virgin Media installed yesterday and there's a £50 off "refer a friend"* offer. Drop me a PM if you're interested.
* Yes, very droll.

Switched from BT to Sky about 12 months ago ... we do take various TV services too, but even though we were loyal BT customers and been with them for 5 years it was way cheaper to go with Sky .... for the same price we managed to add on Sky movies and Sky Sports (the wife loves the darts!) - after 24 months the price will rise but then I'll drop movies and/or sports and still be way cheaper than BT.I am what I drink, and I'm a bitter man

Virgin business broadband £32 a month, no line rental and 350 mega bits speed.Make Mercia Great Again!Comment

I'm pretty sure Vodafone have their own kit rather than being an openreach reseller. I have just checked them for my own area and can get 900MB for £42 a month.

Plusnet are part of/owned by BT. They do have a UK call-centre though, I'm told. Sky has been pretty good, more so if you have a dual package with the TV. Vodafone are OK when all's well, but their support is beyond terrible when it isn't.Originally posted by css_jay99 View PostMy BT fibre 1 (67Mb) broadband is up for renewal soon. Renewal price is jumping up by from £32 to £40. safe to assume that the line rental (on a landline not connected to a physical phone in 8 years) is extra ... though not sure. It is important to also admit that I have never had a problem with the line/service in 10yrs. I don't think I have noticed any throttling in their service either.
Looks like there are other players on the market looking at comparison sites. Plusnet & EE are offering £27 with a few other companies just slightly higher.
Any advice on the 2 mentioned providers that I should be aware of?. Will broadband reliability be the same considering its just a change in provider?

Isn't Vodafone fibre cable to the house, so will depend if they have the network in your area. In our village it's not an option, so we can only use those providers who deliver via BT lines. Thankfully we do get 'superfast' broadband but nowhere near 900mbOriginally posted by BlueSharp View PostI'm pretty sure Vodafone have their own kit rather than being an openreach reseller.
