I've had an interview for a company based in Starthclyde Industrial Estate (approx 10 miles outside of Glasgow).

Do you know of an easy way to get to this place from Glasgow train station? or will it be a taxi job?

And do you know of any good hotels nearby?

        Any help would be appreciated.

        Cheers,

ps - I'm off to the boozer for the afternoon, so I wont get to read replies until later on.
        Bellshill?

        You'd be better driving up.

I was at Mitel for a few years at the business park(across the road from the Industrial Estate). There used to be a very good butty shop round the corner.

What would you suggest? Do I have to become a .Net coder?

Behind the keywords is my real skill, which is data, its integrity, and its migration, especially on Oracle but also on DB2; and particularly though not necessarily for Siebel systems.

Thus I can do unix sql pl/sql not to mention a few other bits, but I am not a coder: I might do a coding-based contract based on tools I already have in the toolkit, but I am less than enthused by the thought of putting a lot of effort into new languages and tools, only to find myself at the end of the queue and at the mercy of MS's sales policies.

Neither do I want something like sql and forms helpdesk stuff at 20/hour. I'd make more money by doing Siebel in Zurich or Frankfurt half the year, and taking the other half off.

Thanks for all your replies guys.

Yes it's in Belshill, and now that I know that I've looked and it doesn't seem too bad, travel wise. Door to door in under 3 hours.
Plus there's a Hilton round the corner which they have a discount deal with, so that shouldn't be too bad.
The only draw back seems the smoking ban - I guess it'll get me used to it for July

I should find out tomorrow if I've got it or not.

Expat - It's Oracle Applications. Its the future!

And thank you Mr Pruffock - I might just take you up on that

                Cheers all!
