      It's really on the housing component that's significantly more in London, so you should concentrate on that. Most other stuff is about the same - Tesco sells porkpies for the same price everywhere.

      On the down side, wouldn't you want extra money for having to be in a place like Slough or Swindon?

        Going out costs alot more. If you frequent Ramsey's every evening for a bit of wining and dining, that tends to burn the cash!!!!!

          That's not actually true the supermarkets regionally price.

            I've not really noticed any difference in price Tesco-wise between North / South.

            Anyway it's the old 80/20 optimisation rule. It doesn't really matter if a tin of beans is 1 or 2p cheaper when your monthly rent is 2 grand more
