Before Thatcher if you wanted to work in finance in London you had to have went to the right school to get into the right bank.

When the Big Bang happened finance was open to everyone.

What happened? Working class got jobs ( by their own merit ) in the stock exchange.

So then there was all these caricatures like "loads of money" saying if you had money and were working class you had to be laughed at.
