And the execution will further exacerbate the divide between the Sunnis and Shia. Muslim vs. Muslim which seems to be the consequence of the Iraq war.

is he actually goin gto be hanged or beheaded??
Yes Sadam was pro Sunnis and put a lot of restrictions on the Shias, some of the restrictions were justified IMO ..e.g. Shias have a day int he year called Ashura, where everyone is expected to beat themselves up with chains etc (same as you saw in the Davinci Code) and they used to do it openly in the streets, Sadam made this illegal, however there are som Shia in Lebanon who still do this openly. Hence the Shia think Sadam oppressed them their rights to express their beliefs etc!!Comment

He also was guilty of protecting the one million Christians living in Iraq from fundamentalists not to mention keeping the fundamentalists and Al Queda out of Iraq - come the day of his execution you will be able to hear the cheers from Tehran.Comment

Hey Alf
Lets not get carried away, Sadam was a butcher who deserves what's coming to him. But if you study Iraq's history (Abbasid Empire) you'd see he did not do anything out of the ordinary, to become a leader it was expected you had to butcher any competitors, this includes your nearest family members (brothesr uncles who may throw you off the thrown), many of the Sultans were nicknamed rippers/butchers !!
But I agree - things are even worse for Iraqis without Sadam - but may be order will follow Chaos!!Comment
