It's not unusual that one will have excellent English, and provides translation services for the rest.
Is that casually racist enough for you?
Or do you have experience of working in this sort of environment?
Some Esteemed Customers are extremely bright but held back by the difficulty they have in understanding what's being said or written.
And certainly those from the Orient will have far far better understanding of mathematics than the local oiks, to whit:
"How are you doing with the maths?"
"Oh, it's quite trivial really"
However he couldn't understand how to remove a BNC lead from a scope and apparently the technician gave far too much assistance.
And if this is the case, how do “the numbers” (you haven’t provided numbers yet, just anecdote and conjecture) work in exams etc. Are translation services provided there, as well?
Is there an army of technicians giving too much assistance? This appears to be what you are suggesting, with “the numbers”. Or just one rogue technician passing hundreds of exams....Last edited by meridian; 3 December 2018, 06:26.Comment

Feel free to answer them yourself, if you have any experience of this. After all, you did agree with his comment so presumably this means you have the experience to agree?Comment

And I'll not mention the thicko who failed to pay his essay writer & thusly got shopped by same & was so stupid he got himself booted out with nothing.
It was most seriously gratifying.
Have you backed away from that assertion now that you can’t find any evidence for it?
Or is this post, which covers all students and not any particular race, meant to cover it?
Plagiarism in general and detecting it isn’t new. My wife’s just finished her degree, and every essay went through Turnitin for checking.
Edit: and checking linguistics may not help in cases where translation services are an accepted method,Comment
