I too - I've worked abroad before and I'd do it again. They'll miss me. HMG's immigration and NHS systems wouldn't be where they are today without me.Originally posted by shoesIf the ability to earn a reasonable amount of money in the uk via contracting vanishes due to excessive taxation then I will very probably emigrate.Comment

See, I said that people said this didn't I!Originally posted by shoesIf the ability to earn a reasonable amount of money in the uk via contracting vanishes due to excessive taxation then I will very probably emigrate. Working in a tax efficient way is the only way to have a reasonable standard of living in the uk,
A person earning 50K BEFORE tax is in the top 2% of earners in the UK.
Are you suggesting that the other 98% have sub-standard living conditions?
If you cannot have a decent standard of living on 50K then your expectations of what is a reasonable standard of living, is unreasonable.

One step over what is reasonable there, IMHO. To the credit of most people on this board, I seem to remember that when the Browns lost their first, the folks put aside their politics and commiserated, at least a little.Originally posted by vistaFingers crossed more of his **********.
And if, as your tone almost suggests, you think that it is more than just politics, democratic politics at that, you should get back on your medication.Last edited by administrator; 22 December 2006, 21:19. Reason: If you think it over steps the mark don't quote it ;o)Comment

That's a good point. I'm beginning to feel that I'm snared by the affluent society. Most people live on less than half what I make: so, could I? It would be a good preparation for retirement.... Somehow I can imagine living on half what I make, but I couldn't see doing it just yet. Treadmill.Originally posted by tim123See, I said that people said this didn't I!
