    I remember it very well. I worked for GEC/GPT in Borehamwood at the time.

    The GPT marketing director there was one Rupert Soames, grandson of Winston Churchill, whose rise up the greasy pole had been very fast. Some thought too fast. They sent him to set up a new GPT office in Paris!

    I don't know what he's doing now but I rather liked him.
