        I like the "humane" bit.

        Well if it is "humane" to cull a few birds with a rifle, does that mean the Germans (or Brits) were humane when they "culled" the excess infantrymen on the battelfield.

          I think they meant that shooting the pigeons is more humane than gassing or poisoning. I notice that the last two methods are very much back in vogue for disposing of troublesome humans.

            I don't know, there's quite a bit of support over there for gassing them like badgers. Theyd have to catch them first and strap them into a little gas chamber though.
