Excellent opportunity

I'm in a meeting with my manager, just me and him. He tells me some right wopping porkies, due to him trying to hide his incompetence, and, or stupidity. The outcome is I have a very tight deadline for a piece of work ISUC consultants were meant to do, and now for some reason are not. (Boss lied to say it was mine to do from the outset, I have several emails, notes and memories of conversations to say otherwise). He, in the same meeting also lied about something else, smaller, but still he lies.

Has anyone else been in this situation and what did you do ?

This is why contractors exist. Our purpose is to deliver what the permies can't. Your manager may lie but between you and him/her/it you both know whats gone on.

He still has a problem namely delivery of what he needs, he's desperate enough to lie so you have an opportunity to deliver what he needs but it'll be late and will require oodles of paid overtime. My guess is that if you are prepared to turn a failure into a success for him he'll pay your overtime -money, right, thats what we're in this game for isn't it?
