The mango wasn't actually hers. It was loaned to her by a Dutch Antilles trust, and at the end of the loan period she repays the loan in rotten mango derivative products sold to her by the trust for a nominal sum denominated in Special Drawing Rights. All fairly standard.

This is just symbolic of the kind of nonchalant attitude displayed by big corporations when it comes to the growing problem of sexist theft.

As recently as last month a SWAT team were called in to the BBC HQ when Ken Bruce reported that someone had used some of his Soya milk to cool their Capuccino down.

Yet when Fiona brought this latest incident to the attention of her Line manager, he was quoted as saying "Yeah....And?"

This dismissive attitude has not gone down well with Fiona's twitter followers, and an overnight vigil has been mounted, led by a "Sue Ellen" of Highgate, who has vowed to light a candle for all the missing mangoes on the hour every hour until the culprit is apprehended, or at least until she runs out of Lattes, Quinoa salad, and Goji Berry sandwiches.
