Mr Brown said the government's aim was to "unleash" the economy.

About 4 months ago Gordo was on the record on the Today programme as saying SME’s were the ‘engine of growth’ in the UK. And now he’s trying to break the engine. He really is the ultimate Terry F*ckwit. It is our duty to get NL out at the next election."My God, it's huge!!"Comment

If NL then lose their support base in Scotland then it could be very interesting indeed.Comment

Originally posted by sunnysanThis man is evil. The only good thing about him becoming president is that he wont be CoE anymore so he will have other things to do rather than f£$k the economy up.
His budget speech, for all his rhetoric was just basically about tax rises and dubious measures to appeal to his target electorate.
This is a man who talks about competing with the likes of India and China, but proposes higher taxes and more regulation to do it. Its insanity.
He is effectively turning the UK into a socialist backwater and god knows what he will do when he is PM
I only hope that he gets more and more stick as the economy goes south so that when the time comes he is unelectable.
Even though I dont like Cameron, I think Osbourne as CoE is a damn side better than we have nowJohnny Talibani MumbaiComment

There was some encouraging points Brown made yesterday , for example a reduction in public spending over the next two years .
Sadly this will not translate into any tax reductions given the need for the 60 billion funding for Trident/Lockheed Martin ultimate WMD upgrade program.Comment

(Don't blame me: some readers may have observed that I view the idea of no Scottish representation in Westminster with equanimity).
PS so when are the Tories going to cotton on to the fact that independence for Scotland would get them in Westminster for ever?Comment
