Lance, when you grow out of short trousers you'll find that a Q7 is a very practical car for away days and holidays.Originally posted by Lance View Postso neither a Q7 (C*NTS car) nor a Cayenne (more money than taste car).
Out of curiosity, in this price range, for a family of four, which comfortable long distance tourer would you buy for
away days and holidays ?

I wouldn't mind the new S Class, but the Mrs prefers being higher up. If I can get one for the right price I might get a GLS.
I wouldn't touch anything JLR, and the Levante is too showing off, so what's left, something from VAG ? Or wait for the X7 ?

The ford Edge, is clearly not a status symbol but, i have to say the space in the back seats and reclining seats are excellent for a family making long distance journeys.Comment

engine's got to be 3.0litre +
need the power for overtaking
it's a shame Nissan stopped doing the Pathfinder and Patrol in Europe, those two are perfectly adequate and we had a Pathfinder before the Q7.
