Must admit i've not been in the latest Octavia so I am basing my experiance on the older versions of both cars.

As for parts being cheaper for skoda's... They are virtually identical under the bonnet. Surely you could just buy the mechanical bits from skoda and plonk them direct into your Audi ?

"They haven't just re-branded them. It's a VAG car under the skin. Yet some sad feckers witll still pay 2-3K more for a VW or Audi badge."

I beg to differ - they have taken an existing brand which had negative aspects associated with it. They have made an undesirable brand desirable. That is rebranding isn't it?
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

      I preferred version 1!

without a doubt, credit where credit's due, VAG have bought some of the cheapest brands in Europe (Skoda/Seat) and made them successful,

if only the management of Britain's car industry could display the same talent

if only the UK Post Office could lead like Deutsch Post do snapping up all the parcel companies and becoming the largest parcel company in Europe

        Milan.

MB, It's the 5 Speed TIPTRONIC. The 6 Cylinder stops it sounding too much like a tractor on start-up. I had an Audi A4 1.9 diesel before the Skoda arrived. I liked it. it had 99K miles and still drove like new!

Not sure about DSG - how would I know?
