Why wifi? Why not just get a normal digital frame, you download photos to a memory card and you just have to plug it in. Take the old card out to fill up at your house, then next time you're back, swap them over again.

What's the complicated bit? Picture frame app + remote access app + cheapo tablet stand. Much more versatile and 1/2 of the price of a dedicated picture frame.

Plus you can spy on your folks watching squirrel/donkey/pig porn once the Russians hack it...

Would it not be easier to post all the potential pictures to Facebook or similar and then let them download and print the ones they want in a traditional manner.

One problem with many of these IOT gadgets is that they don't allow you to set it up with WPA which leaves it open to naughty people...

Heard of online retailers? Heard of the postal service?

You buy and ensure they get delivered a specific digital photo frame with a memory card slot.

You then upload said photos to a memory card. You then post them this memory card.

They the plug the memory card into the digital photo frame.

If they are a bit luddite you check first they know a teenager e.g. neighbour who with a small payment will do the plug in the memory card bit.

Alternatively do what everyone else does - use Facebook.

I'm not sure whether the "ease of use" requirement is for his benefit or the folks.

Why not use the old fashioned method? Get the photos printed and send them in the post. Or you could try talking them through setting up a wifi connected gadget, but if they're anything like my folks you'll have a huge phone bill and a gadget which still doesn't work.
