I saw them on the Brothers in Arms Tour.

It was a real star studded experience.

Sting came on to do the intro to MFN, Phil Collins on drums and Eric Clapton guesting on guitar for a few numbers.

If it's Dire Straits for the first time in my life I'll be up all night banging away at the keyboard trying to get tickets.

Just imagine the opening riff of Money For Nothing blasting out from the Pyramid Stage. It would be completely unsurpassable - the definitive festival moment.

Saw them at Wembley. Wembley Arena - they weren't doing the huge stadium gigs then. In fact, a few months later they did the Showerings Pavilion at Shepton Mallet. Yes, Really!

ELO in their flying saucer would have been pretty awesome too but I was a bit to young to catch them in those days.

They played the naff Sunday teatime has-beens slot at Glastonbury a few years ago & weren't that great.

Now, a reformed ELO with Violinski and Beb Bevan would be a different prospect altogether. Saturday night Pyramid Stage headliner calbre that would be.
