...and of that half a million, 5000 came from the EU
Net migration from Eastern Europe to Britain slows to a trickle after Brexit vote
It's good that the government is focusing on getting the 5000 down. That will make a huge difference.

HTH
Some prescriptivists argue that even the extremely rare and completely unidiomatic[6] "one fewer" should be used instead of "one less" (both when used alone or together with a singular, discretely quantifiable noun as in "there is one fewer cup on this table"), but Merriam–Webster's Dictionary of English Usage clearly states that common usage dictates "one less" in all cases.Last edited by northernladyuk; 23 June 2017, 08:38.Comment

DC promised to get immigration down. Yet there were more from outside the EU than inside. Why not just stop all immigration from outside the EU?Comment

I've always had the feeling this population growth, immigration, is actually a planned strategy with a goal for the British Isles to have more people that the whole of Europe put together and consequently by being equal or more than the EU collective based upon population size put the great back into Great Britain
as long as they plan it properly and use the available space efficiently it is a goal which is feasible
There's plenty of ways to house everybody, just look at Hongkong

High demand for housing = keeps house prices high
High house prices = the only thing keeping our economy afloatComment
