If, by socialist outlook, you mean hosing the public sector with tax payers' money, it simply doesn't work. That's Labour's answer to everything - you just end up creating more bloated layers of bureaucracy and fat cats with their snouts in the trough.

What does public sector means to you?? Schools? Hospitals? Roads? Rubbish collection? Security?? What exactly?? And how do you suggest these areas get financed if not out of tax?

Been in Norway a few weeks ago, they have a lot of unemployment now due to the Oil/Gas crisis, but still so many Teslas on the road

Oh my friend who is a Oil/Gas engineer has been unemployed for the last couple of years since the crisis happened, the government gives then good amount of money, my friend is actively looking for a role, not awaiting handouts, but its good to have the safety net the government gives them to support the family

^This, the vast riches of the UK are concentrated in a very small majority, most of whom are storing it off-shore. The gap between rich and poor is getting wider. The problem is that Tories are catering to the top 1% that are hardly paying any taxes, Labor is catering to the bottom 10-15% that are not paying much taxes. And the average Joe in the middle is getting f***ed left right and center.

You know something is wrong with a country when a family with 2 working members pays taxes, but at the same time depends on benefits to survive.

Yes, those and more like the many Quangos created under labour.

I'm all for financing essential services from the public purse but I've never seen any improvements in public services with Labour's tax grabs over the years. Quite the opposite, in fact. Just look at their obsession with targets and the inefficiencies resulting from all the bureaucracy surrounding that.
