£6 bln per annum is £30 bln over 5 years, just 1% reduction (20% to 19%), for comparison massive divi hike was projected to deliver a LOT less!

Vat is a percentage. If you take 1% off the percentage then you are cutting the actual amount of vat collected by 5%.Originally posted by milanbenes View Posteh ?

if you have a bill of £500, at 20% vat HMRC would get £100,
if it was 19% then you would get £95 a 5% fall in vat collected.Comment
