Lucy - there are a few examples that I have seen but earlier on this thread you called someone a "knobhead". OK I so I don't know everything but in my experience only northern blokes use that expression.

I think knobhead comes from Liverpool. I blame Brookside!

No sorry, but i have read about the 1950's in books, and seen it on TV. I don't think I would have liked it - it looked incredibally dull.

The worst thing is that we don't have kids - that's what generally keeps people of my age at home.

However, we don't have to go out "on the pull" any more, which makes life a lot easier.
