Nothing spiteful about it. They're EU agencies, Britain doesn't want to be in the EU so why should they be based in the UK?“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.” -
The agencies can leave. I was referring to the bit about no trade talks.Originally posted by darmstadt View PostNothing spiteful about it. They're EU agencies, Britain doesn't want to be in the EU so why should they be based in the UK?Taking a break from contractingComment

Well the EU are only asking for certain items to be cleared up before they begin, don't you sort out your rate before starting on a contract? Anyway, it has to be paid otherwise Farage and the rest of the kipper cretins won't get their EU pensionsOriginally posted by chopper View PostThe agencies can leave. Those EU meanies are showing exactly why we don't want to be in their stupid club anyway! So there!Originally posted by chopper View PostIt is an unusual and spiteful approach from the EU, considering they think they want €60bn from us. This is the bad deal for which no deal would be better if they think the UK would agree to make a large payment without anything in return.
It is also proof that the EU has nothing to offer its member states and so they need to resort to bully boy tactics. "Leave or terrible things" rather than "here are positive reasons to stay". No wonder we voted to leave.Comment

They were never that bothered about having us as members, we were always the one who were made to take our shoes off, not say anything, and make sure we paid our subs on time. They'll miss us when we're gone. Well, the Germans will, since they will have to pick up our share of the tab. Not that Merkel gives a toss, she's got an election to lose.Originally posted by northernladyuk View PostThose EU meanies are showing exactly why we don't want to be in their stupid club anyway! You treated the EU so seriously you sent them Farage and the kippers as your representatives in their parliament, who spent the entire time they were there (if they bothered to turn up) insulting them. After forty years of English culture which mostly consists of repeating "two World Wars and one World Cup" at them ad nauseum, they're glad to see the back of you.
It's a wonder the UK won as many concessions as it did, when each time you gains another one you still moaned and whinged about it. "Whinging bloody Poms" suits you well.Comment

To be fair before we sent UKIP we did send over serious politicians.Originally posted by meridian View PostYou're joking, right?

Well for starters, the voting system for the European Parliament "sent them Farage" and a few other UKIP representatives. That's simply what you get with PR. Some fringe loonies (on all sides) are bound to get in. Why do you think the Lib Dems are so keen on it?Originally posted by meridian View PostYou're joking, right?

And if they're truly "glad to see the back of us", that makes me happy, because I'm twice as glad to see the back of them. His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...Comment
