Can we please stop attributing the IRA to all deaths in the north of Ireland.

Peak years for deaths were 1972 and 1988. And yet I don't remember such wailing and anguish and generally snowflake behaviour in the 70s/80s.
Is it simply the case that today's generation is weak or is it that because it's Muslims rather than Catholics now, it's in some people's interest to make it look worse than it is?
So, why did you choose Catholic?

What happened there was that due to the particular layout of the streets around St.Mary's Axe and surroundings, when the bomb went off it caused a massive gust of wind to be channeled down one street with huge force and that is what smashed all those windows - the wind gust.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I started working opposite that site when it was still a bomb site and that is what I was told.

Liz Curtis notes that republican violence "dominates the coverage" and the tendency of media of "blaming the IRA" for violence. (Liz Curtis, Ireland: The Propaganda War, London: Pluto Press, 1998, pp.106-107) This is reflected in the coverage of the casualties. The media most often reproduces the following breakdown:

Killings by Military and Paramilitary Groups 1969-2001
          Republicans: 2060 (58.6 percent)
          Loyalists: 1016 (29.2 percent)
          British Forces: 363 (10 percent)
          Others – Unknown: 89 (2.2 percent)
          Total: 3528

Why do some people make these idiotic comparisons? Sure we have, and have had, many problems of our own, including terrorism and crime, but how is that a logical reason for importing more problems that we never needed to have?

I remember in the news that was mainly a conflict between Protestants and Catholics, sad. This belongs to the past and solved, the future is more important now.

You claim to have me on ignore, do why don't you feck off and start your own thread where you can indulge your stupidity?
Fact is all the Islamic terrorists so far in the U.K. have been born here.

I realise religion is just a proxy, but it was the Catholic based IRA that did most of the killing on the mainland.
Got nothing against Catholics by the way, I happen to be brought up as one.

IRA derivatives and loyalist groups are still active in Northern Ireland. There was a bomb on Thursday there, in Strabane, targeting the police.

As I suggested before you should keep up with the news and read up about historic events before commenting about terrorists incidents in another European country otherwise you look like an idiot.

To be fair to Bee, most Brits wouldn't know if there was an incident in Strabane either, it's treated as such low-level activity there now that it doesn't make the main news any more. I have family in Donegal and nobody's batted an eyelid.
