    Pre-nups in the UK have almost zero legal weight.

    I think 1 year marriage, and if she did not pay anything towards the house may give chance to not let her have half of it, but she will probably get good chunk.

                      If you bought it in both names, then it will be considered joint property, and you will have your work cut out to stop her taking half. If you have a mortgage, she'll be jointly liable for that, though, so you may be able to do a deal for half the equity only. If it's in your name alone, you have a chance of hanging on to it, with a reasonable lawyer to back you up. It'll help if she didn't work, as it would show that she couldn't have paid any of the mortgage payments - it will also help if all the mortgage payments went out of your account, rather than a joint a/c.
