Due to the Brexit miscalculation, I'm afraid many, many more people will be forced to use food banks in the coming years.

Right conclusion, wrong reason. Inequality increasing. Brexit will just be an excuse.Originally posted by sasguru View PostDue to the Brexit miscalculation, I'm afraid many, many more people will be forced to use food banks in the coming years.Comment

unfortunately according to the experts its the state in 50% of the cases putting these people on benefit sanctions that sees them at Foodbank. I think its a great way to provide a net where the state muck up.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostVolunteering to help people with your time to provide extras is different in providing them the basics. The state should, via our taxes, provide people healthcare plus basic food, accommodation and help working age people to get another job without judgement if they fall. Otherwise we have gone backwards to a Victorian society where we have the deserving and under deserving poor.
Remember most of the foodbanks require a referral from a professional (health professional, Social worker, CAB) and limit the number of times you can go there.
3 times @ 3 days each so its not like popping down to Tesco (who by the way are very generous to the foodbanks)Comment

Quite a few people donate them and generally the thought is love em.I was told they were popular in the warehouse for making up kits. Not suitable for the homeless etc (it has to be something the all night cafes can add boiling water to). But what can be better than a cup of tea and a nice pud with the kids?Originally posted by SueEllen View PostDo people using food banks like Fray Bendos pies and chocolate pudding?Comment

The Princes Trust plus retailers like Timpson (bless the guy's dead wife) and Sainsburys help those with criminal convictions by giving them jobs, so the ones who see sense don't continuously feck us up.Originally posted by vetran View Post"You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
