What, the argument that the invasion had the backing of the UN? Sure, if it makes you feel better.

So, SB, according to you the Iraq War is an astounding success as it has removed Saddam and given the Iraqis some elections to vote in?
      Hard Brexit now!

        I'll ask another question.

What was the point of removing Saddam? Why spend 500bln just to take out a dictator? Did people really think he had some nasty bombs?

No the argument that it was a pointless waste of time and money that has acheived nothing.

Apparently he was a bit mean. Bit like the north korean fella so the US may move onto him.

              Lest we forget

              Iraq war

              PROS

              1) Removal of Saddam

              CONS

              1) Destablisation of Iraq, risk of partition
              2) Civil war
              3) Massive loss of life
              4) Destruction of all infrastructure
              5) Weakening of US generally owing to drawn out conflict.
              6) Revival of militant Islam
              7) Increase in mainland terrorist attacks
              8) Erosion of established democratic rights
              9) Relative strengthening and increase of confidence of other rouge nuclear states and no military and domestic capacity to counter that.

              Etc, etc

The reasons for going to war in Iraq where all lies to start with. US has systematically weakened its position in the Middle East, UK and US governments are incapacitated by criticism of the war. They have destryed any moral credibility they had with their own electorates.

I would expect this kind of leadership from tinpot dictators but the judgement shown by the leaders of the worlds two most pwerful western countries is at best questionable

                You missed out a CON.

UK and US use the hype to introduce draconian anti terrorist laws that enable them to control thier own populations more effectivly. Oust a dictator whilst moving slowly but surely into that position yourself, masterful.....

See point 8, although admittedly not that well articulated.
