If Greece is so bad then surely the UK isn't in much better shape then, I mean:Originally posted by Mordac View PostCorruption: Expenses and allowances paid un-receipted just for turning up. No audited accounts filed for years. Billions paid out to fund white elephant projects (that airport in Spain for example).
Disregard for democracy: the Irish referendum on the Lisbon treaty. Make sure they have another one and bully/bribe them into voting the right way this time.
Political egos: Look at all the flapping around to "save" Greece, for example. The fact that Greece has been well and truly buttrogered by the "deal" doesn't matter squat. The important thing was to save the EU vanity project, which is ultimately what the EU is.
I'm sure there is a hell of a lot more in that particular can of worms, but I don't have access to a big enough tin opener.

Real wages are one indicator, but by no means the only one. Selective statistics are close to useless in that context.Originally posted by darmstadt View PostIf Greece is so bad then surely the UK isn't in much better shape then, I mean:

But....Exclude the fines, and RBS is churning out a £1bn profit every three months.
Whats the chance that business will generate more fines in the future
