"PIP" might want to shave that bum firstOriginally posted by SueEllen View PostWear a bright pink jacket, have a pink bag/panniers and a blonde long haired wig under your cycle helmet. Alternatively have see through black cycling shorts/tights and keep your bum of the saddle.
That way you will be given plenty of room.

From StW have a look at going up Romney Avenue through Cheswick Village. That will get you to the big roundabout by Abbey Wood.Originally posted by Pip in a Poke View PostHas anyone ever braved doing a cross Bristol cycle?
It appears there's a route that is cycle friendly in places - at least from the yurts of St Werberghs up to Stoke Gifford. I could park the car in Whitchurch and cycle in from there.
I don't fancy the bit along the St Philips Causeway though
Blog? What blog...?

I can also follow the Whitchurch Way to Arnos Vale. It's just the bit between there and StW that has some hairy bits.Originally posted by malvolio View PostFrom StW have a look at going up Romney Avenue through Cheswick Village. That will get you to the big roundabout by Abbey Wood.
There are some real "muggers paradise" style underpasses around Easton, Laurence Hill etc.Comment

Until the A4174 gets upgraded to be part of a proper orbital motorway with the M5 and M4, the problems will continue. Going in on the M32 is fine if you want the immediate centre round the shopping area; other than that, the times I've been to Bristol, it's horrendous. Lovely city, but a nightmare to get round. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment
