Far better to find a local girl and get her up the duff.

Depends on your aims. Most of these expats end up doing their old age in the UK. They do 60-75 overseas for the weather. Then retire to the UK to die. If you are 40 it's a different game, different strategy needed.

If all the nice rural areas are goi g to be full of English then I may look at apartments in the bigger towns.

Gawd, couldn't think of anything worse than emigrating just to find yourself surrounded by the worst your country has to offer. ie British expats.

Bin there, done that and it weren't pretty. Not in the Costa Blanca anyhow

Whichever you choose, I would recommend holidaying there several times in different seasons, then renting there for a few months (short term rentals so you can try different areas) before buying a place for cash. You may find that you buy outright, later decide you don't like the place that much and then find that you cannot sell!

Migrating to a foreign country is not easy. Gets harder the older you are. For example, fast forward thirty years- can you see yourself in a French old peoples home?

If you don't want to live with British expats you face the immense challenge of fully integrating with the locals - don't underestimate how hard that is once you are over 18.

Where would you pay tax? If resident in France and earning in UK I would bet you could be due for double taxation I.e. tax in UK and France. They do like their taxes in France!

I'm confused now. Brexit is supposed to stop the EU migration into UK. If the brits doesn't want us in the UK why should we want the brits in EU taking our jobs!

About 300,000 people emmigrate each year, which probably counts as a drove. The only figures I could find (which were from The Daily Mail) suggest only about half that are leaving Romania.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.
