5 years straight contracting anniversary coming up ...
I've been chained to my oar since 2007 (besides maybe a week or two off between contracts).
Since 2002 I think from memory I've always had the next one lined up before finishing the previous one.
(Luckily I haven't encountered any unexpected mass contractor lay-offs at a site, or the individual equivalent.)
Good going.
Prior to this stretch I was a permie for 5 years, and prior to that a contractor for roughly 10 years and prior to that permie.
The previous contractor stretch was much more choppy, though (different skill set).
12 years now, with only a week's holiday per year in recent years (none before that).
I'm knackered and unfortunately neither am I wealthy
Aah you have a wife, Mrs STJ has just spend 10k on fitted wardrobes while getting rid of the non fitted ones, there has been no significant change in the amount of wearables contained within either receptacle so money well spent
