Just a thought, but if he stayed in a hotel in London, the chances of him actually meeting any British people are extremely slim. The staff will all have been Polish, the guests will have been Russian, and if he used an Uber, their drivers are all banned from speaking English. No wonder London voted to remoan, there are hardly any British folk left here.

Given that he was talking primarily about his experiences in this country during World War II, any Poles he met were more likely to be flying Spitfires than working in hotels.

He did actually say he had visited a "few" years ago, so that does suggest a time more recent.
