Still buzzing even today!Originally posted by original PM View PostIt's quite exciting for the hoops.

Considering the Man City team cost over 20 times that of the Celtic team it was a superb performance.
Had to laugh just before kick-off when the commentator said "Here we go with Scotland against England" when Man City had 1 English player in the team and another 1 on the bench!
Admittedly we only had 4 Scots in the team, but we had a further 3 on the bench, 2 of whom came on as subs

It's noticeable that the CL has lost a bit of interest since it moved to BT sports. In years gone by the game would have much more coverage in the news as a battle of Britain but SKY don't want to promote a rival's product and the BBC don't even bother as they don't get to show of the goals.Comment

It is quite a dangerous time for football. That said, people don't go down the pub to watch like they used to. 15 years ago, even with a United game on ITV, our local was standing room only for an away CL tie. It thinned out a little for home games but tickets were harder to come by then so not much.Originally posted by minestrone View PostIt's noticeable that the CL has lost a bit of interest since it moved to BT sports. Just read an article that stated that Celtic earned more money from that one match against City on wednesday night than they will earn from being Champions again this season. I mean as if the financial odds are not already skewed against everyone but a small clique at the top of the game who are already angling for exclusive access to an even more lucrative arrangement.
Greed is ruining the game.“The period of the disintegration of the European Union has begun. And the first vessel to have departed is Britain”Comment

Always makes me laugh when they talk about fan ownership. While it's fine and a reasonable goal for Bury, Northampton, etc., how are fans meant to be able to afford Premier League clubs? United were valued at £2bn a couple of years ago.The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't existComment
