As that seems to be the way most people who aren't developers view them then Sky Fairy seems to make sense from the outside.

Remember most Atheists and agnostics think creating the world in 7 days , original sin = Limbo & God working in mysterious ways are totally ridiculous.

Well most believers don't believe the first one, or the second one. And I'd probably argue most people, including a lot of agnostics, DO believe that things happen for a reason even if they'd be quick to deride the idea of a supernatural force. Those who truly believe everything is totally without greater meaning and things just happen are probably in the minority, if only because the yearning for meaning seems to be a biological feature.

I'd probably call myself an atheist, but would never look down on those who hold however ridiculous a belief in their sky fairy of choice. Who knows, some of them may be actually right.
