His latest response
"Potentially yes, but they could easily decide to go for someone who 'ticked' less of the boxes, but was substantially cheaper.
Ideally they are looking for someone who is a recent MBA graduate with an interest in the industry. You're initial e-mail suggest you are more experience than that, but without seeing your CV its hard to judge."
Jesus this is like pulling teeth. So they want a jnr PM who has a MBA who is 'interested' in the pharma industry.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

This can't possibly be worth spending your valuable time on?
If you fancy wasting some more time - yours and scumbag pimps - quote a stupidly low figure, go to the interview, get the job, inform agent that your new rate (the one you wanted all along) is based on information discovered during the interview and, in your opinion, it's not a junior role.
That should upset the b@gger!+50 Xeno Geek Points

Fwiw, imho the term "Junior PM" is an oxymoron anyway. Either you want a PM or you want someone cheap. His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...Comment
-
Surely a Junior PM is a permie role ?? The junior is blatently going to have to learn how to do it from the senior, why would they employ a contractor who doesn't know what he is doing and needs to be trained up by the client?Comment
-
No he mentioned expectations per hour - Permies don't usually do this.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

I think he is getting a bit miffed now....
"I have a remit to send to my client only the best candidates/CVs for their position. I'd be happy to tell you the rate, but, if once I've seen your CV, I think you are not suitable for the role, or are over priced, then I am obliged not to take your application forward any further.
Most candidates are happy to say what they are currently on and that they are looking for a modest increase. As I mentioned before, my client asks to see previous earnings, so if there is a large gap between that and the requested rate, then it doesn't reflect well on the application. As such the top rate isn't really relevant to the applicant."
Yes it is as their top rate may be too low for me and so I could not do it at their price.
So he has a budget and still won't tell me what it is.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

Send him your CV and say you will do it for 5 quid per day. You dont have to go for the interview do you? What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

He is talking crap as well, there is no justification for knowing the rate you are currently getting. Businesses do not disclose thier finances to other businesses so that the business you are about to provide a service to knows they are getting value for money.
Secondly you may be overqualified for this job, but currently doing a noddy job to pass the time that is at a rate well below what you are worth. Knowing your existing rate has no bearing on your ability to do the new job, or your experiance.Comment

I agree a price is a price - I have sent him my CV and my rate. Lets see what he comes back with. If they can go for my rate then they can go for my rate + his reasonable increase.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
