As a statue they are impressive.

But for a robot to be realistic would not have to just “look” human but also move & sound human, there lies the challenge.

Also would any one create a human looking robot (in the near–medium future) as humans (generally) don’t like to be usurped & a “human robot / android” would feed into fears of the Rise of the Machines.

OFC there is always exceptions to the rule & sex robots would be that exception.

Feeds human vanity much the same way that the majority of hollywood aliens have a human likeness, or how we made god and his offspring in our own image, which is the epitome of arrogance.
