And...
Have you been burgled, has anyone you know near by been. Have you been a victim of crime?
I have been held at knife point twice, mugged by a gang once and been a victim in an armed robbery, none of that in this country though. I would not buy at street level in BG, but I think apartments are still safe. I walk around a lot at night and have not been done in in BG
Is it safe to walk down alleyways at night?
Where the **** is it safe to walk down alleyways at night? People who walk in dark secluded areas at night, in any major urban area are stupid.
Has anyone been murdered in the local area in the last 6 months?
I bet many people have been murdered in my local area in the past 6 months. Most are probably gang/drug related so it does not really bother me
To sum it up. If you want to live in a leafy safe suburb becuase you have children or becuase you are scared of crime go for it. If you have to spend three hours every day commuting, thats the price you pay. If you want to live in the city , and any urban area you take the good with the bad, and that includes increased crimeThere are no evil thoughts except one: the refusal to thinkComment

Not sure though it's a great place to live but anyway, is central, close to work for you (I imagine), so guess not so bad afterall...I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.Comment

BTW, Canary Wharf is a fine area to live as long as you live on the waterfront. Step back a street and you are in to council housing!
The sooner the poor and lower classes are priced out of the area the better!
