So some of them may have voted twice which means even fewer of the feckers turned out.

Except the significance lies in both. Neither representation is more valuable than the other. For example, it's worth remembering that the swing is only something like 650k votes. Not large, smaller than Leeds. The bottom line is that Vote Leave are not a gov't and they don't have the mandate for a specific policy response. This is going to require a new GE, even if that adds to the turmoil in the short term.

Why is he damaged? He won referendum, it's his job - he should take some responsibility

Brexiters got mandate to form Govt from Tory party and show us Bremainers how great it will be

New GE will be in fact second referendum

Listen, it's done. Had it gone the other way, I wouldn't have argued for a rerun. The Bremainers need to accept that democracy is a messy process. Things are frequently OBE. Victories are often declared on small margins. Manifestos are rarely implemented in full. Politicians lie and change their minds. Circumstances change. Smeg happens. The people have voted and we're leaving the EU, end of story. However, we will need a GE to secure a specific mandate for change. By all means, Labour can run on a manifesto of ignoring the result, as can the Lib Dems and others. May the best manifesto win.

The Daily Mail comments are funny.

That's fine. Indeed, it's democracy. In that case, I predict a very bad outcome for anyone running on a manifesto that ignores the result. Very bad.

You clearly haven't heard of the Fix-Term Parliament Act of 2011.

A GE won't happen unless sufficient MPs if all parties vote for parliament to be dissolved. If they do most know they won't get re-elected...

You clearly aren't aware that the Act can be repealed with a simple majority. Corbyn supports a new GE.
