You have absolutely no idea if that is true.Originally posted by Chuck View PostMaybe it will. Maybe it won't. But it will be for US to decide.Comment

Yes, they (mostly) want to stay, but if UK indeed exits then might as well try to recover some losses.Originally posted by Chuck View PostFrom the large corporations that are so desperate for us to remain, presumably?
Cons will praise it as removing "red tape" from Brussels, and creating more "flexible" (to bend over) work force.
Dyson will be really happy that he can sell his super powerful suckers in UK, even though he still won't be able to do so in EU.Comment

That's a massive assumption that there would be a Conservative government.Originally posted by AtW View PostYes, they (mostly) want to stay, but if UK indeed exits then might as well try to recover some losses.

And that's the nub of the problem. It's easy to convince people that an immigrant working for less can take a job away from a British person. It's a bit more difficult to explain how immigration means there's more jobs overall, even when the unemployment figures clearly back that up.Originally posted by Chuck View PostWorking class could gain the most if we restrict unfettered access to workers from outside the UK that is putting them on the breadline. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

There are potentially more jobs, but are there net more jobs after immigration? Under this government, yes.Originally posted by VectraMan View PostAnd that's the nub of the problem. This is where Labour failed so miserably. (Ok, one of the ways).

Chances are, someone in Westminster will notice the absence of that legislation and pass something equally as inept and confusing as the EU regulations.Originally posted by AtW View PostYes, and also EU legislation designed to have level playing field for all EU members will be gone, so nevermind those paid holidays, overtime pay etc and welcome to kids digging coal in old mines.
Brexit may or may not do a lot of different things, but I doubt it is going to hinder Westminster's ability to pass botched legislation, on things people care about, that only accomplishes part of its purposes whilst generating massive unintended consequences. I know some kids I'd really like to send down a mine without benefit of equipment, but sadly, Brexit isn't going to solve that one.Comment

This sounds like a communist speech.Originally posted by AtW View PostWorking class is going to suffer most from Brexit.

Agreed - anyone voting Brexit based purely on immigration may well feel let down.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostBut you have absolutely no idea if that access will be restricted. Maybe the UK will join the EEA. Even Nigel Farage has 'absolutely no idea' what will happen if Britain leaves EU.Comment
