Wow only 450. So presumably as a good engineer with 15 years experience you're on 70k, say, and you already own a house on which you have 50% ltv. So what's the problem. Perfectly affordable I would have thoughtHard Brexit now!

That was meant to be funny, even I don't always succeed. Anyway you haven't explained why You can't afford a 450k house. Are you saddled with debt? Paying private school fees? What?Originally posted by PurpleGorilla View PostYou started it;Hard Brexit now!

Yes, yes, no - too much risk for me thanks. £2k to find a month for the mortgage. I don't want that pressure thanks.Originally posted by sasguru View PostWow only 450. I can afford it. But it is too much of a burden. I see an almighty crash coming. So why saddle myself and expose myself. My little mortgage and little house gives a great low risk platform to operate as a contractor.Originally posted by sasguru View PostThat was meant to be funny, even I don't always succeed. So in other words all this whining is because you're completely risk averse. Basically you want to Have your cake and eat it.Originally posted by PurpleGorilla View PostYes, yes, no - too much risk for me thanks. £2k to find a month for the mortgage. I don't want that pressure thanks.
Do you think Boomers as you call them didn't spend 50% of their take home on houses?
Basically what you're saying is I want a big house, but (1)can't save the cash (2) don't want to borrow and (3) my parents were not successful enough.
I think even you can work out where that leaves you ....Hard Brexit now!
